Achim Kemmerling

Achim Kemmerling is Associate Professor of Political Economy and works at Central European University , Budapest . His research interests cover issues of taxation and the welfare state, as well as finance and development. His recent publications include a monograph on Taxing the Working Poor (Edward Elgar) and the journal article Accelerating Downhill: How the EU Shapes Corporate Tax Competition in the Single Market (with P. Genschel and E. Seils in JCMS).

GR:EEN is a fruitful opportunity to understand the role of regional integration in shaping global inequalities. What processes does EU integration induce in other regions of the world? What do trade and finance relationships do to poorer countries both within and outside the EU?
