Lia Quartapelle is completing a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Pavia. She is currently Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of International Politics (ISPI), in Milan, Italy. Her research focuses on African economic development, on aid effectiveness in Africa and on international competition for Africa’s resources.
In joining GR:EEN, Lia is interested in analyzing the competition for Africa’ resources between Europe and emerging powers. She is the author of two books. Before ISPI, Lia worked as an economist for the Italian Cooperation Agency in Maputo, Mozambique.
