Dinner Party Installation
This place setting, created by Professor Eric Holub (Life Sciences), featured newly cultivated bean varieties—nutritious, affordable, and locally grown. Part of the 2022 Warwick Dinner Party Installation, the event explored how meals carry meaning, inspired by Judy Chicago’s iconic feminist artwork. Warwick philosopher Eileen John invited participants to create settings that reflect personal, cultural, or philosophical significance. Over 30 contributions—from global breakfasts to hometown dishes—highlighted food’s power to connect. Philosophy met agriculture through the University’s Food GRP, and yes—Eric’s beans were cooked and declared delicious!
