Mascot Karl Marx
Karl Marx (pictured) and Simone de Bear-voir are the beloved teddy mascots of Warwick’s Tripartite Programmes Office. Originally won in raffles by international PPE students, they were donated to the office when first-class flights proved too pricey. Since then, they’ve become fixtures of Welcome Week treasure hunts, student outreach campaigns, and emotional support. Karl offers revolutionary bear hugs, while Simone provides existential comfort—and a soft place to rest. True to their namesakes, they challenge capitalist cuddles and traditional teddy roles alike. Off-duty, Karl enjoys outdoor adventures, and Simone keeps her coat pristine with spa days in Maureen’s washing machine.
