Come along to the Philosophy Society's Book Sale!
The Philosophy Society is holding a book sale in the Philosophy Common Room (S2.71) this Friday, the 16th January.
Come along to pick up some pre-loved Philosophy books, and if you have any you would like to try and sell on, just come by reception and drop them off any time before the sale.
Call for papers: 2015 Joint Session
There are still three weeks until the deadline for submission of papers for the 2015 Joint Session.
GUIDELINES
- Submissions must not exceed 2000 words, including footnotes and bibliography, and must begin with a 100-250 word abstract.
- Submissions should include a title page containing the name of the author, title of the paper, institution, and email address.
- Submissions may be formatted in Word or PDF. Papers containing symbols liable to distortion should be submitted in PDF.
The closing date for submissions is 1 February 2015.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Authors whose papers have been accepted for the Open Session will be informed by the middle of April 2015.
- Papers accepted for the Open Sessions will not be considered for publication in the Proceedings of the Aristotelian Society and expenses will not be paid.
- Only one paper per individual may be submitted. Submissions must be for either the Open or the Postgraduate Sessions - not both.

- As in previous years the Society for Woman in Philosophy UK (SWIP) will organize a panel as part of the Open Sessions. Submissions should be sent as an attachment to katharine.jenkins@sheffield.ac.uk. For more information, click here.
- All conference delegates must be members of either the Aristotelian Society or the Mind Association.

Find out about Postgraduate Study in Philosophy at Warwick
The Philosophy Department will be putting on an event to provide information to our undergraduates about Postgraduate study in Philosophy at Warwick. This will take place on Thursday 27th November from 5pm, in R3.41. If you think you might be interested in studying philosophy at postgraduate level, you are strongly encouraged to attend.
At this event you will have the opportunity to:
- Find out from Course Convenors about the postgraduate programmes on offer at the Philosophy Department:- The MPhil in Philosophy, MA in Philosophy, MA in Continental Philosophy, and MA in Philosophy and Literature
- Find out from our current postgraduate students about what the courses are like and the kinds of topics they research
- Get advice on how to apply
- Find out about our Department Scholarships for taught postgraduate courses, including a scholarship competition open only to Warwick undergraduates.

Call for papers: Joint Session 2015
The 89th Joint Session of the Aristotelian Society and the Mind Association will be held at the University of Warwick from 10 to 12 July 2015.
There are a large number of Open Session places available, with no restrictions on the areas of philosophy that may be addressed. The intention is to accommodate all philosophical material that is suitable for presentation, though a more selective procedure may have to be adopted in case the number of suitable submissions exceeds the available places. There are 20 minutes available for each Open Session talk (plus an additional 10 minutes for discussion).
