The School of Education, Learning and Communication Sciences comprises the department of Applied Linguistics; the department of Education Studies; the Centre for Research in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; the Centre for Lifelong Learning; and the Centre for Teacher Education.

With over 200 staff and 1800 students, including 150 doctoral students, we work with many partners including professional bodies and over 500 schools. SELCS is a welcoming and inclusive community, fostering excellence in research, impact, teaching and regional engagement across all its areas of expertise.
