Call for Abstracts - Graduate Seminar Series 2024/25

The Centre for the Study of Women and Gender (CSWG) at the University of Warwick would like to invite postgraduate students from any institutions working in gender and women’s studies (or any related field) to present at the Graduate Student Seminar Series for the coming academic year 2024/25.

We welcome submissions from all disciplines on any gender related topics. There will be up to five (5) seminar slots spread over the year.

The Graduate Student Seminar Series provides a friendly, informal setting for graduate students to give presentations and exchange ideas related to women’s and gender studies. The seminars aim to be interactive, and every seminar presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session. Attendance is open to everyone, both faculty members and students. The seminars will be hybrid or held online on Wednesday afternoon from 3pm – 5pm. The calendar will be shared before the new academic year starts.

This invitation is open to postgraduate students, such as MA students who have submitted their dissertations and PhD students in any year of their projects. Participants can choose to attend the hybrid events in-person should they wish.

The seminar series aims to:

  • Foster discussions on questions of/around gender and feminist studies.
  • Provide a safe and comfortable space for postgraduate students to present their research.
  • Create an opportunity to fine tune presentation skills,conference papers andpossible publications.

Abstracts to be considered should be:

  • Maximum 200 words.
  • Include 4-5 key words below your abstract.
  • Submitted by August 30th, 2024.
