My Bio
I have been involved in General English Teaching (EFL and ESOL) since 1997. I started my career teaching general English and exam English in Vic, near Barcelona in Spain. I then worked in the Further Education sector in Coventry for 10 years. Since 2009 I have specialised in the teaching of English for Academic Purposes (EAP). In 2012 I started a blog, the EAP Archivist, which was the beginning of my engagement in EAP scholarship and research. From 2015-2022 I undertook my PhD in EAP. My thesis title was: Knowledge building via Academic Reading Circles on an English for General Academic Purposes pre-sessional course. In the thesis I examined the role Academic Reading Circles can play in developing academic knowledge, skills and confidence.
