For term 1 spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis. In term 2 we review the registration data from the previous term and check which students have already been allocated previously.
We prioritise students who have not previously been allocated a language class.
For example, if a student applies at 8:33 am and has never been allocated a language class, they will receive a place before a student who applies at 8:31 am but has already participated in a language class in the past.
For the first trip, spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. In Terms 2 and 3, we review the registration data from previous trips to see which students have already been allocated a place.
We then prioritise students who have not yet been allocated a trip. For example, if a student applies at 8:33 am and has never attended a trip, they will be given a place before a student who applies at 8:31 am but has already attended a trip.
We advertise 1 week in advance when the registration form will open. The link to register for trips will be posted on my.wbs.
This provides an opportunity for students to discuss with their friends and be prepared to apply in advance. It is essential you take ownership to regularly check my.wbs; this ensures you keep up to date with information and do not miss announcements.
We open the form at 8:30am. This ensures there are no clashes with teaching and everyone has the opportunity to apply. Trips fill up quickly so set your alarm! The form will close when we have received enough registrations. If you submit this form multiple times, please be aware we will only keep the last submission. Any submissions before 8:30am are not registered and deleted.
Yes, any students who apply but are not allocated are automatically placed on the waiting list. If you missed the form please email with the following information.
• Student ID: • First Name: • Surname: • Warwick University Email Address: • Course: • Trip you are interested in:
There are a limited number of spaces on each trip, so it isn’t possible for every student to attend all of them. Not everyone is interested in the same trips, and demand can vary.
For that reason, we encourage you to think carefully about which trip interests you the most when applying. While we can’t guarantee a place, as it depends on demand, we do our best to make sure opportunities are shared fairly.
We offer 2 events in term 1 and 2 and 1 in term 3, that are available for all students, this means students can participate in an activity each term if they wish to. You can find out more about the opportunities here.
Yes, you can turn up at the meeting point and join the waiting list. If there are any drop outs on the day you may be able to get a place. Please note that this is not guaranteed.
We will add your name to the master list of trips attended to make sure records are accurate.
This helps us track which students have attended which trips.
If you wish to change your choice of trip you will join the waiting list at the position you make the request to change.
It does mean you will give up your place on the trip already allocated, so you must make the decision if this is the best choice for you.
If you wish to go on the same trip as friends, we strongly encourage you to apply at the same time, this increases your chance of being allocated on the same trip. However, it does not guarantee this. If you are allocated to a different trip from friends, make the most of this opportunity and network as a professional student! An important life skill is meeting and communicating with different people.
No, The system is set up to only keep your latest submission time, this factors in students who apply but then change their mind on choice of trip .
