How to write your introduction and abstract

Not sure what to write in the introduction to your dissertation? Not sure what the difference is between an abstract and an introduction? We will examine the typical content and structure of an introduction to a dissertation and how to write an abstract. You will be provided with a list of useful phrases commonly employed to establish the importance of the topic, review previous work, state the value of the work, and indicate the structure of your writing. We will also look at how to write your acknowledgements and typical conventions for writing the contents, and figure and table lists.
