The Warwick Innovation Fund
The Warwick community is constantly coming up with new ideas. Many ideas need funding to become a reality.
Thanks to your donations, The Innovation Fund invests seed funding in projects tackling some of the biggest challenges facing our students today. Each year, forward thinking individuals apply for funding towards new and sustainable projects. The Student Union reviews these for sustainability, viability, and impact. The Innovation Fund then invests in these new projects, to support the ever-changing needs of students and the local community.
Every year, your donations power programmes that will transform lives.
Your donations can power life-transforming projects, supporting the needs of students and the local community.
In 2025 / 26, your donations will fund seven projects, focussing on areas from tackling food insecurity on campus to introducing wheelchair fencing for the first time.
Warwick Para-Fencing Project
Introducing wheelchair fencing at Warwick, this project will provide regular coached sessions and create the University’s first fully accessible sports club for wheelchair users. Working closely with Warwick Enable, the club will champion inclusion while offering pathways to national competition. Uniquely, able bodied players will train and compete alongside disabled players, making this one of Warwick’s most inclusive sporting opportunities.
National Students Summit for Liberation
An expansion of Warwick SU’s Liberation Conference, this national event will bring together activists, academics, and students for workshops, panels, and performances. Participants will co-create content, share research, and build new partnerships linking theory with action. The Summit will also launch a National Liberation Network, positioning Warwick as a leading voice in advancing inclusion across higher education.
Food for thought
Designed to tackle food insecurity and support student wellbeing, this project will introduce new schemes such as Grab and Go; a mobile, sustainable food cart offering healthy meals directly to students. A digital 'Affordable Food Calendar' will also highlight free and low cost food options across campus. By partnering with ethical brands and University services, the project will expand access to nutritious, affordable food.
RAW Studio 2 refurbishment
This project will enhance the comfort, sound quality, and overall podcasting and broadcasting experience at RAW. Upgrades will include improved soundproofing, new lighting, updated equipment and cameras to support live broadcasts and high quality video recording. These improvements will enable a full broadcasting schedule and help RAW double its content, amplifying student voices across campus and beyond.
Post-graduate sports day
A new sports initiative aimed at boosting postgraduate participation by offering accessible and affordable activities. Through friendly competitions and a celebratory reception, postgraduate students can come together to build community, support wellbeing, and establish a long lasting annual tradition.
Discover Islam Week Cultural Iftar
The main highlight of Discover Islam Week, this annual event brings together students and staff of all faiths to share a meal and promote understanding. Led by the Islamic Society, the Iftar welcomes more than 300 attendees each year, strengthening campus unity and challenging misconceptions about Islam.
Warwick Kickstart Creator’s Fair
This fair will bring together social media creators and digital entrepreneurs to share insights into branding and modern enterprise. Through talks and networking opportunities, students from all disciplines will gain practical tools to help turn their ideas into successful digital ventures.
Why your support matters
Everyone deserves a fair chance at achieving their goals. Students’ circumstances or situations beyond their control shouldn’t limit their potential. With your support we can do so much more for so many more.
