Leading Strategic Innovation in Healthcare

This Connected Learning Community supports the development of knowledge and skills in the leadership of service improvement and innovation across healthcare settings. The programme brings together key components designed to strengthen learners’ understanding of strategic leadership within the health ecosystem as a complex adaptive system. It explores the characteristics and drivers of high performance in healthcare, approaches to health improvement and innovation, leading services in resource‑constrained environments, and innovation through practice.

Our aim is to create an engaging, practice‑focused learning environment that encourages thoughtful experimentation and ‘productive struggle’ as essential elements of professional growth. Through creative, applied teaching and learning methods, we seek to build healthcare professionals’ confidence and capacity to innovate within their own services.

This Community is led by an Associate Professor of Health Services Research and Education at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick. It draws on insights from Leadership Studies, Sociology, Organisational Management, Public Health, and Health Services Implementation—brought together in support of developing effective, forward‑thinking healthcare leaders.

A Blended Intensive Programme (BiP) is on the horizon and we welcome interested Eutopia partners in developing this endeavour further.
