Warwick launches new International Strategy

On Thursday 16th November, Warwick held our first ever International Showcase, welcoming 250 staff and students from across the University to the official launch of the University’s new International strategy. Guests learnt more about all of the international-facing activities of the University, from our recruitment to campus experience, international educational opportunities for staff and students, international research funding and collaborations as well as our partnerships with institutions around the globe.

Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President of The University of Warwick said:

This strategy will empower us to achieve not only our 2030 international goals, but also our strategic goals across research, education, innovation, inclusivity and sustainability, and, in so doing, support our staff and students to work even more successfully with collaborators around the globe to change the world for the better.

Professor Michael Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) said:

Warwick’s international identity is deeply ingrained in its DNA. We recognise we are richer for the many communities that make us, and we see the world as a place that can be transformed for the better by learning and working together – both with those near at hand and across the world. We are part of a vibrant global network – a multicultural Warwick family – and this strategy will ensure the continued growth of our international profile and collaborations. I could not be prouder of our work, the incredible people delivering it, and the positive impact we are creating.

The International Showcase was part of One World Warwick, a programme of over 50 events in 23 locations across 6 countries which was attended by over 5,500 people.

Following the event, colleagues shared their reflections, and one attendee remarked:

It's a brilliant initiative to gather more momentum to demonstrate our global community, global campus and the international outlook, especially in the context of the current geo political situation where international student recruitment and conversion is under pressure.

It's such a brilliant way to showcase flagship events such as OneWorldWarwick as a unique selling point and all the social media tags from the events happening throughout the week will certainly help international students feel valued, but also generating content and interest to attract prospective international students.
