Community guidelines for leaving comments on articles
Purpose
To create a respectful, inclusive, and productive space for dialogue between University of Warwick colleagues.
Who can comment
- Only employees and verified internal users may comment.
- We do not accept comments made anonymously or made from a non-Warwick email account.
- By commenting on articles, you accept the terms of these guidelines.
What’s encouraged
- Celebratory or positive engagement about University news and colleagues
- Comments that are relevant to the topic
- Insights and constructive feedback on articles
- Questions that help clarify content
- Suggestions for future topics
Tone and conduct
Please comment as you would in a professional meeting. Be respectful, inclusive, on topic, and constructive.
The Dignity Principles Policy and Freedom of Speech and Academic Freedom Policy apply.
What’s not allowed
- Any comment that would breach the Dignity Principles Policy
- Harassment, hate speech, discriminatory language or anything else deemed unlawful
- Comments about unverified rumours or confidential information
- Spam or unrelated promotional content
Privacy and confidentiality
- Do not disclose confidential University information.
- Do not disclose anything that breaches GDPR, such as someone’s home address or other personal details.
Moderation
All comments will be moderated and approved before showing publicly.
Comments that violate the guidelines will not be published.
