75th Kenilworth Carnival

This Saturday sees Kenilworth celebrate its 75th annual carnival with a host of floats set to take to the streets of Kenilworth on Saturday afternoon. This year, previous carnival queens will take their place on a special nostalgia float.

Carnival teamThe Carnival procession will set off from Brays car park at 2:30pm and will take in the High Street, then Bridge Street, Waverley Road, St John's Street, Randall Road, and the Kenilworth Clock, before floats disperse at Forrest Road.

Entertainment will be provided on the Plateau in Abbey Fields between 3pm and 5pm, with some old favourites returning including The Crew - a cheerleader team from Coventry plus dancers from the Tommy Docherty School of Dance displaying their Irish dancing skills and the return of the 'Shimmy' Dance Troupe. There will also be a display of martial arts and singing from local youngsters The Kenilworth Gang Show.

There will also be a funfair in Abbey Fields from Thursday 5 July to Saturday 7 July with opening times afternoon 'til late.

Programmes and raffle tickets (priced at 20p each) can be bought in a number of town centre venues.

The Carnival Grand Draw will take place in Abbey Fields at 5:30pm to round of the day's entertainment. Prizes include £250 cash, £150 voucher for Waitrose/John Lewis Partnership, £100 voucher for True Romantica Bridal, cocktails and champagne at The Kenilworth cocktail bar plus a host of other prizes.
