Tatjana Sauka-Spengler is a Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow and Professor of Developmental Genomics and Gene Regulation at the Radcliffe Department of Medicine, University of Oxford. She runs an interdisciplinary research group and has a background and training in both physics and biology. Her group seeks to understand the network organisation of gene regulatory programmes underlying developmental processes, with the main focus on deciphering gene regulatory circuitries that orchestrate early cell specification steps during the development of vertebrate embryos. Her lab develops wet lab and computational approaches allowing the mechanistic profiling of gene regulatory interactions in specific embryonic cell populations in vivo
