This talk will explore ideas from Helen Wheatley’s latest book, Television/Death (Ediburgh University Press, 2024) that positions television as the posthumous medium par excellence, building on previous critical explorations of the relationship between death and other photographic media. Helen will use this as a springboard for thinking about how she has tackled the question of why and to whom her research matters.
