Investor Readiness - Angel Investing Workshop

Tuesday 27 February, University House

Are you ready to diversify your interests? You’ve heard of angel investing and may want to find out more. Let us help you use your skills and experience to break in to a high-risk but high-return form of investing with a host of angel experts.

Connect Midlands has many years of experience working with both potential investors and those companies seeking investment. We have teamed up with the premier technology business angel network Minerva and Midven, a venture capitalist managing the Regional Venture Capital Fund, to provide you with an opportunity to find out more about investing in emerging technology and high-growth businesses via two workshops (the second to be held in London on 6 March).

The workshops will be facilitated by seasoned angels bringing a no-nonsense approach to considering key aspects of investing in unquoted companies. Business Angel investing offers many advantages that traditional forms of investment cannot. See for yourself the benefits:

  • If successful, Angel Investing can offer higher yields and
  • More generous tax breaks than property investment and listed investments
  • Angel investment can be a highly successful addition to a balanced portfolio.

Meet a host of experienced, like-minded people to help you get started – seasoned business angels, an investment manager from a leading venture capital fund, a tax expert and professionals (see the enclosed flyer to find out more).

If you are interested in finding out more, how to get started, what to look for and what to avoid then join us at one of only two workshops we are running this year.

The workshop will include advice from seasoned business angels, legal advice, tax advice, case studies, both successes and failures and advice on how to get ready to invest.

In addition there will be an opportunity for delegates to attend a follow-on investment event where early-stage, high growth companies will pitch their investment proposals for your consideration.
