Staff Showcase Day: Destination Warwick
Beat the January blues by coming along to our Destination Warwick Staff Showcase Day on Monday 16 January. Free to all staff, we’re opening up some of the campus’ great facilities for you to explore through a range of great taster sessions – from food sampling to Photoshop retouching sessions.
The Staff Showcase Day will give you the chance to leave your office and see more of the University and find out more about others’ work. Take a look at all of the activities on offer throughout the day and book your place now.
Warwick Print
Photoshop retouching taster sessions
Book a slot between 2:00pm - 4:00pm, Warwick Print
Learn more about our design and print services. Book your slot for our 15 minute Photoshop retouching taster session. We'll get one person from each session to send us an image that they'd like to edit in advance and during the session we’ll show you how to edit it using retouching tools. At the end of the session we'll print the image and give you a demonstration of our printing services.
Poster printing
Drop in any time between 10:00am - 4:00pm, Warwick Print
Upload your A3 poster to our Departmental Online Printing Solution (DOPS) free of charge, then come along on the day to watch your poster being printed and get a behind the scenes look at Warwick Print in operation. Although these are drop in sessions please fill out the booking form so we get an idea of numbers. Please note - details on how to upload your poster to DOPS will be sent to you nearer the time.

The art of coffee!

Coffee sampling demonstration: If you like great tasting coffee and want to perfect the art of making a good brew at home then come and meet Union, the University's new coffee supplier. The Union team will be on hand throughout the day running practical demonstrations and showing you the science behind a great tasting cup of coffee! Although these are drop in sessions please fill out the booking form so we get an idea of numbers.

Food innovation sampling: Would you like to sample some new international food products in Rootes grocery store? Here's your chance to try some new products and give feedback to the store team. Although these are drop in sessions please fill out the booking form so we get an idea of numbers.

10:30am - 11:30am, The Slate
Warwick Conferences invite you to come and experience the new product offering available at our new venue, The Slate. You’ll get to view our fully open, flat, fluid exclusive occupancy space with a lake view, accompanied by a taster of the individual food we have on offer.
You’ll be greeted by various options of speciality tea and coffees delivered by our new catering van, followed by the opportunity to gain a real flavour of The Slate through its tasty morning refreshments; brownies, granola and marshmallows.
Once you have gained a real insight and understanding of the ethos behind our new venue, we’ll then get you up to speed with the latest developments occurring across Warwick Conferences reflected through a gallery of images.
As a thank you for your time, you will leave our venue with a bag full of Warwick Conferences goodies.

Tour of the Mead Gallery

Join Fiona Venables, Curator, for a short tour of the Mead Gallery's major new exhibition 'From Far Away Uncle Moon Calls' by Subodh Gupta, one of India's foremost contemporary artists.

Warwick Sport
What is your goal for 2017?
2:00pm – 3:00pm, Sports Centre
It’s that time again when we either set or don’t set goals for the new year – what have you decided to do?
Whether you’re challenging yourself to try something new, generally just be more active in 2017 or learn or improve on a particular skill, come and join us at the Sports Centre as we open our doors to the entire staff community. Take a peek into the gym, the climbing centre or even better - bring your active wear and get involved.
Activities will include:
- Sports Challenges: test yourself on the Badminton Serve, Penalty Kick or Netball Shootout
- Class tasters – Body Balance (30 minutes at 2pm), Body Combat (30 minutes at 2:30pm), Streetfit (2:15pm - 2:30pm)
- Meet the trainers – our personal trainers will be available to talk about any goals you might have and maybe a tip or two to help you achieve those. We'll also be demonstrating a group PT sessions during the hour in 10 minute chunks.
- Facilities tours – check out our facilities at the sports centre on a guided tour
Special one day only offer - 10% discount on group PT (up to 4 people). Normal price is £50, but on the 16th January it will be £45, that's £11.25 per person if there's 4 of you.
