Big W in bloom
After making its debut last year and becoming the backdrop for many happy family photographs, the ‘Big W’ has been refreshed for this year’s graduation season.
Inspired by the flowers of Madeira, our Gardens team have taken their green fingers and given it a new lease of life, with a nod to our 60th anniversary.
Alongside begonias, which require low watering and are great for our campus wildlife, pyrethrum plants have also been used in this year’s display. Pyrethrums are experts in repelling the insects that want to eat the plants and have beautiful flowers.
Kelly Baker, Head of Grounds and Gardens said:
“The team have done an amazing job building and refreshing our 3D W, creating a lovely tribute to our 60th year! It’s one of many jobs that the team have done to get campus ready for graduation. Well done team!”
