Confidential wellbeing drop-in sessions for students
The Wellbeing and Student Support team are offering a confidential drop-in service designed to provide a safe and private space for students impacted by the war in the Middle East. Specialist wellbeing staff will be on hand to listen, and offer advice and guidance for students on a confidential basis.
Session details:
- Thursday 29 February 15:30 - 17:00
- Tuesday 5 March 15:30 - 17:00
- Thursday 7 March 15:30 - 17:00
- Monday 11 March 15:30 - 17:00
Location: Senate House, Wellbeing Reception
About the sessions:
- Confidential: The sessions prioritise confidentiality to ensure students can express concerns without fear of compromising their visa status or academic standing in any way. No record of attendance will be kept without explicit consent.
- Anonymous check-ins: Access the sessions anonymously, with reassurance that they can be entirely honest about their feelings.
- Professional support and advice: Drop-in support will be run by experienced social care professionals who will be able to provide empathetic and non-judgemental support and advice.
- Discrimination support: Staff can provide advice and support for anyone who has been the subject of Antisemitism or Islamophobia. This is a service for students – they are in control of what they want to discuss, and any next steps they may wish to take.
How it works:
- Students can drop-in during the specified hours without making a booking.
- The check-ins are designed to offer immediate support and advice.
- They can choose the level of detail that they are comfortable with sharing.
If staff would like support, you can access confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the Employee Assistance Programme.
