In these newly created roles, Dan and Franklyn will work closely with Professor Mike Shipman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), to deepen our relationships with university partners in Africa, and to foster new opportunities for funding, student mobility, and research and teaching collaboration.
Both bring strong connections to Africa through their personal research and direct working experience.

“I am delighted to be taking on this new role which reflects Warwick’s commitment, as one of the world’s leading international universities, to strengthen its engagement with Africa in a mutually beneficial manner. I look forward to working with the entire Warwick community and beyond towards delivering on this commitment.”

"I'm excited to be working with Franklyn to bolster and grow Warwick's engagement with partners across the African region. There are already a number of strong ties between Warwick academics and their colleagues in a range of different African universities. Working closely with such partners, I hope we can build upon this foundation with new research and teaching partnerships."
