Ajay Teli Vlog: Transcript

Ajay Teli: I'm Ajay Teli. I'm the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer here at the University of Warwick. I also sit at UEB (University Executive Board) and I lead all the marketing, communications, insights, and the student recruitment for the entire University.

So my team at the University helps bring stories to life, and they're here to help bring your stories to life. The team is full of real experts. We've got people in press, social media, content creation. And talking about content creation, we love to collaborate with talent on campus, created by Warwick, for Warwick and beyond. We've also got our insights team. We've got our student recruitment. So it's a full holistic blend of people.

The vision for the University is to be a globally loved university and a global brand. Brand isn't just a logo. Brand is more than that. It's the DNA, it's the personality, it's the people, it's the culture. That's what makes a brand. There's so much substance here at Warwick. We've got the Warwick Arts Centre, we've got the Mead Gallery. The University isn't just about education, but it's a destination in itself. Warwick has all of those elements to make us such a successful one.

So I've been in marketing and comms for a number of years. I've been in agencies working on brands such as Kit Kat, Disney, Amazon. I was at the Canary Wharf Group for a few years. I've also worked internationally for the Doha Film Institute and that was all about promoting Arab film and culture. And before I joined Warwick, I was at Bicester Village.

I also love doing things outside of work, predominantly like travelling. I was recently in Seoul which was amazing and I've just booked my trip to Japan later this year. I love cooking. Bit of a coffee snob, I love really good coffee and I'm obsessed with architecture and design. I think it's one thing that I've loved ever since I was a child.

I'm really excited about being at Warwick at the moment because we've got so many great things going on. When I came to Warwick, I had no idea that we had bases elsewhere. And Stuart said there's a base in Venice and we also have a base at The Shard. And we're doing some amazing, innovative work at both. Venice offers students an opportunity to spend time out there, and the Business School at The Shard is a great way to illustrate how global we are as a brand.

For me, coming to work at Warwick, I'm humbled because you have amazing academics who are changing the world. We're investing in so much for our students, our academics, and the people that work here. We're evolving our brand. Put that together, package that, and that's what tells the story. And our team are there to help you tell your story.
