£1 billion Advanced Propulsion Centre announces Hub location at Warwick

apcWarwick has been selected as the location to host the hub of the new national Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC). This is a £1 billion initiative between government and industry to position the UK as a global centre of excellence for low carbon powertrain development and production.

When announcing this news to WMG staff and students, WMG’s Chairman Professor Lord Bhattacharyya said:

With WMG’s long and successful history of working with the automotive sector, I welcome this opportunity to play an enabling role in delivering the APC vision. A number of colleagues have worked incredibly hard on the APC hub proposal over the last few months and I would like to thank them for their contributions to the successful proposal. This news comes very soon after the recent announcement of £65M funding to create an Advanced Propulsion Research Laboratory (APRL) within the National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC). “
