New Chief Communications and Marketing Officer

Ajay Teli has been appointed as Chief Communications and Marketing Officer (CCMO) at the University. He will begin in the role this February and brings with him a wealth of experience, leading high performing teams across multiple sectors including, real estate, retail and travel in both agency and in-house.

Ajay joins from The Bicester Village Shopping Collection, a global retail brand and destination, where he headed up the integrated communications, driving footfall, increasing consumer engagement and building a destination on an international level.

He previously worked for the Canary Wharf Group plc leading all the marketing and communications with the goal of turning the 128-acre estate from a soulless corporate destination into a thriving cultural hub, driving awareness of its retail, restaurants and public art. He also led the launch of key commercial buildings, to the first residential development designed by world renowned architects, Herzog & de Meuron, as well as leading all the brand reputation management. Ajay also brings with him global expertise having worked in Qatar for the Doha Film Institute and in New York for WPP.

As a member of the University Executive Board, Ajay will lead the marketing, communications and brand strategy and delivery for the University, building global, national and local reputation across all our audiences, to achieve our ambitious 2030 vision and strategic goals. 

He will lead a department of over 160 people focused on student recruitment, marketing, market research and insight, corporate communications, brand and campaigns. Ajay succeeds Jane Furze, who stepped down as the Interim Chief Communications and Marketing Officer in November.
