University of Warwick apprenticeships – information clinic
Did you know that we currently have 32 apprentices working here at Warwick University and many more who have completed an apprenticeship?
National Apprenticeship Week takes place from 3 February 2020.
Are you interested in finding out more about apprenticeships? Maybe you are looking into your own personal development or you are a line manager considering learning opportunities for your team? Have you struggled to recruit to a role and are finding that people do not have the qualification needed? If so, an apprenticeship may be a great way to train an existing member of staff or to offer as part of the recruitment package for a new staff member.
We are holding a ‘drop in’ apprenticeship clinic on Wednesday 5 February from 10.00 - 12.00 in room 2.9 in University House. Come and join us for an informal chat about apprenticeships - free coffee and cake supplied!
During National Apprenticeship Week we will also be releasing case studies which demonstrate the huge impact apprentices are having here at Warwick and holding a celebration event for those who have completed their apprenticeship.
There are many myths about apprenticeships, for example, that they are only for "young people" – this is not true, an apprentice can be any age - it may be an apprenticeship for an entry level role right through to a degree. Another myth is that an existing member of staff cannot do apprenticeships; this is also untrue. We have many members of staff who are accessing their learning and having it paid for using the apprenticeship levy. It also does not affect your contract or rights as a member of staff here at Warwick.
