Award-winning doctoral students at WBS

250Two Warwick Business School doctoral students have been congratulated on their recent award wins.

American Finance Association Travel Grant for Swarnava Biswas
PhD in Finance student Swarnava (Sonny) Biswas, has been awarded an AFA Travel Grant enabling him to attend the 2014 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia in January.

Professor of Finance Andrea Gamba nominated Sonny. Only 120 travel grants are awarded worldwide, Sonny is planning to submit his thesis in around 12 months time. He already has an MSc in Finance from WBS, gained with Distinction in 2009.

Teaching Excellence Award for Simon Parker
The Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence for Postgraduate Research Students who Teach (WATEPGR) aim to recognise and reward postgraduate research students who teach or demonstrate, and who have had positive impact on the student learning experience. The awards also enhance the profile of teaching excellence at the University.

Simon Parker has been commended for his teaching in WBS, and received a monetary prize to be spent on his research or teaching activities. His teaching profile can be found here.
