Warwick Classics Ancient Theatre Schools' Day

This years Warwick Classics Ancient Theatre Schools' Day is Friday 7 February.

Centred around an eagerly anticipated performance of Plautus' Pseudolus by Warwick Classics Students (directed by 2nd year Classicist Stefanie Vansteenkiste who has been given an IATL Student as Performer award for the project), the Department of Classics will be welcoming 125 GCSE AS/A2 students and teachersfrom a wide range of schools across the country to a series of lectures and seminars on Ancient Theatre between 10 am and 4.15pm on Friday 7th Feb. The day was hugely oversubscribed with at least another 150 school students failing to win a place.

The day has been supported by an Impact Grant from the Humanities Research Fund, for which we are very grateful. This is a great opportunity for us to showcase what it is like to study Classics at Warwick to potential future applicants.

Events

There will be two important opportunities for current staff and students to meet and chat with the school participants during the day:

  • 10am -10.45 am over coffee in H0.51.
  • 1.45-2.45pm over lunch in Library Room 2.
  • There is also a full timetable of events available

If you are able to join us during one or both of these sessions, it would be hugely appreciated. Please let Michael Scott know in advance which you are planning to attend via m dot c dot scott at warwick dot ac dot uk
