Clearing and Confirmation 2021

It’s that time of year again – A-level students have been getting their results, and yellow ticker tape appeared on the Warwick website, helping applicants and interested students to find opportunities and guidance on our Clearing pages.

2021 results

As you’ll have seen in media reports, results improved significantly on last year, and many of our applicants met their grades, meaning that we’ve exceeded target numbers on some courses. We’re honouring offers made, we expect to be close to target on widening participation, and we’ve also been able to offer a small number of places across a range of subjects via Clearing.

Hotline

Our Clearing hotline has been a key source of guidance and reassurance for applicants as part of our larger Confirmation and Clearing process to support successful student recruitment.

Stephen Gray, Student Recruitment Officer, spoke to us towards the end of A-level results day:

We are now closed for clearing.

What is Clearing?
Clearing is how universities fill undergraduate places still available for the upcoming academic year – through attracting students who’ve applied late, declined their firm place offer, didn’t meet offer conditions or didn’t get the offer they wanted.
