Change in alert level in Coventry

Following the update on the move for Coventry from Tier 1 'Medium’ to Tier 2 ‘High’ in the UK Government Covid-19 alert level system at midnight on Friday 23 October, here is more information on what this means at the University.

The campus is classified as tier 2, but the Coventry tier change doesn’t mean any significant changes to teaching or operations. In accordance with Government guidance for universities and in consultation with Public Health, we will continue to operate our blended learning and teaching, research and services safely (at DfE tier 1) and staff should continue to work as you are currently.

There are some implications for students regarding their households, and some implications for sports and retail on campus in terms of households mixing in these venues. These changes are covered in further guidance and FAQs.

The University’s highest priority continues to be the safety of staff, students and the local community. Our safety measures on campus, which include social distancing, face coverings, enhanced cleaning and test and trace, remain in place and important for all members of our community.
