Coventry Mysteries Festival - Dominoes

coventrymysteries.jpgThis year's Coventry Mysteries festival runs from Friday 23 – Monday 26 May. On Monday 26 May (bank holiday Monday), Coventry Mysteries is creating a landmark community event as part of the festival.

The event itself is working with Stationhouse Opera's Dominoes. Dominoes takes as its starting point the simplest of ideas... a line of dominoes. Thousands of breeze blocks are used to create a moving sculpture which runs across the city, unfolding over the course of the day.

They are looking for enthusiastic, friendly and considerate volunteers within the local community and outlying areas of Coventry to aid them in bringing together a landmark, and truly memorable, event in Coventry city centre. It is up to the volunteers to work together in teams to create a huge line (1.5km) of dominoes that will weave, climb and fall their way from Fords Hospital, leaping from car parks, running through historic buildings, working its way through the streets of the city and finally ending at the Cathedral Ruins.

Training will be provided in the week before the event. For more information visit the Coventry Mysteries website.

Coventry Mysteries Festival will also present 'The Institute of Impossibility', an Enlightenment Café production created in collaboration with the University of Warwick and Coventry University.
