Creating a splash at the British National Masters


WinnersAt the British National Masters Championship 2013 held in Plymouth earlier this month, Warwick Swimming Club won eight gold medals, six silver medals, three bronze medals, and broke a British record in the mixed relay. Congratulations to the seven staff and student members of the Warwick Swimming Club who represented the University: Andy Reay, Josh Dobson, Ruth Scanlan, Robyn Le Friec, Charlie Middleton, Liz Bishop and Sarah Irving. This is a tremendous achievement!

The events were:

200m breaststroke - Gold for Andy Reay and personal best for Josh Dobson

50m free - Gold for Ruth Scanlan and new national time

100m butterfly - Silver medal for Robyn Le Friec

50m backstroke - Silver for Ruth Scanlan, with Andy Reay and Charlie Middleton achieving personal bests

100m breaststroke - Silver for Andy Reay

4 x 50m medley relay - Gold for Liz Bishop, Ruth Scanlan, Robyn Le Friec and Sarah Irving

400m free - Silver medal for Liz Bishop

200m fly - Gold for Robyn Le Friec

4 x 50m free relay - Gold for Liz Bishop, Ruth Scanlan, Robyn Le Friec and Sarah Irving

100m free - Bronze for Ruth Scanlan

50m fly - Silver for Ruth Scanlan

Mixed 4 x 50m free relay - Gold for Robyn Le Friec, Charlie Middleton, Ruth Scanlan and Andy Reay

Mixed 4 x 50m medley relay - Gold for Robyn Le Friec, Charlie Middleton, Ruth Scanlan and Andy Reay

50m breaststroke - Silver for Ruth Scanlan in the women's event and Bronze for Andy Reay in the men's

Mixed 4 x 100m medley relay - Gold for Robyn Le Friec, Charlie Middleton, Ruth Scanlan and Andy Reay. Also breaking the British record by 13 seconds.
