New Cycle/Pedestrian Route in Development

Diversion
The Public Right of Way W164 from Cryfield Grange Road to campus will be diverted at various times over the 6 months from 23 January 2012 so the new route can be safely constructed.

Warwick is working in partnership with Warwickshire County Council and the cycling charity Sustrans to develop a new cycle and pedestrian route from Kenilworth to campus, named "Connect2Kenilworth" or "C2K" for short.

The route will run from Cryfield Grange Road, entering campus near the sports pitches and Pavilion near Leighfield Road (see the photo below).

This should make it much easier and safer to get to the University from Kenilworth by bike, and Warwick is involved in the project in the hope that it will encourage more staff and students to cycle to work instead of driving in alone.

The route is part of the University's Travel Plan. Helping staff and students to live more environmentally sustainable lives is part of the University’s Strategy: "Encourage everyone to take an active role in achieving key environmental goals" (goal 5.5).

The University's portion of the route will be opened in late June 2012. The remainder of the route, from Cryfield Grange Road to the new Bridge, will be opened in Autumn 2012.
