Energy Global Research Priority: Funding call

An internal fund is now available across the University to support research activities in the context of the Energy Global Research Priority (GRP). The purpose of the fund is to increase the University's capacity and capability to undertake world-class, innovative and exciting research in the field of energy as well as offer undergraduate students the opportunity to gain an insight into energy research work being undertaken at Warwick and to develop their transferable skills.

Two competitive elements to the fund are now open; research awards and an undergraduate research scholarship scheme.

Energy GRP Research Awards

The aims of the Energy GRP Research Awards are to provide:

  • funds for modest support for research activity specifically related to any activities in the field of energy, and/or
  • pump-priming support for the development of new research initiatives and/or demonstrators in the area of Energy which are creative and innovative and clearly of a strategic nature. Ideally such projects will be of an inter- or multi-disciplinary nature and will show that they will lead directly to future bids for external funding.

Applicants may bid for funds of up to £20,000

Energy GRP Undergraduate Research Scholarship Schemes

The Energy GRP is pleased to announce funding for up to 5 undergraduate research scholarships in Energy. Bursaries of up to £2,000 will be provided to enable undergraduate students to undertake a short (4 to 10 weeks) research project within a department or research centre.

The deadline for applications for both elements of the fund is Friday 8 March 2013 at 5pm.
