Save energy this summer

We are at the end of another fantastic academic year of University. During the year the Energy and Sustainability team has been working hard, with your help, to cut our energy usage and reduce water consumption.
We would like to thank you all for your help and support and ask that you continue to keep consumption at a minimum.

We are sure many of you are eagerly anticipating holidays and would like to remind you that you have an impact on energy and water usage wherever you are. Sustainability starts at home so please remember to turn off taps and electrical appliances including lighting. Also please ensure you have checked your energy tariff in the past year – by carefully checking just a handful of energy invoices Mark Jarvis realised we had been overcharged by a third and has saved the University around £200,000. With an average household energy spend of £1,500 then imagine how much you could save! Check your bills and tariff.

If you want any advice/information on ways to reduce your energy costs at home/work or even some help understanding your energy tariffs feel free to contact the Sustainability Champions or contact the local energy saving charity Act On Energy.
