Farewell and congratulations to Chris Hunt
Chris Hunt, our Commercial Director and University Board Executive member, will be leaving Warwick this week to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer at the University of Nottingham.
Chris has been appointed to this senior role following a competitive process. He’ll be joining the executive team at Nottingham to help lead the institution. Chris will be stepping into the new role in his hometown, where he was born, raised, and now lives. He will officially leave Warwick on Wednesday 23 July.
Chris has played a key role in leading the University’s commercial portfolio and supporting our wider strategic goals. He has been responsible for leading Warwick Employment Group, Warwick Conferences, Warwick Food Group, Warwick Arts Centre and Warwick Sport through a period of change and ambition.

Speaking about his departure, Chris said:
“It’s been a real privilege to serve as Commercial Director at Warwick, an institution that changed my life when I first studied here. To come back and contribute to its continued success has been deeply meaningful, both professionally and personally.
I remain committed to helping change lives and shape futures by continuing to work in higher education. Joining Nottingham as Chief Operating Officer – a world-class institution in the city I call home – is a proud moment, and I’m looking forward to supporting its next phase of growth and impact.
Thank you to all my colleagues at Warwick for the collaboration, energy and shared commitment to excellence. I’ll continue to cheer you on.”
In the short term, Peter Hall will take on day-to-day responsibilities for the commercial portfolio while long term plans are considered.
