The Faculty of Science is pleased to announce that it will sponsor Best Doctoral Thesis Awards of up to £500 each

Each of the Faculty of Sciences's PhD- awarding Departments or Centres are running their own competition following general Faculty guidelines with local discipline-dependent variations, as appropriate.

The awards are for the best PhD thesis from each area, successfully examined in the period from 1 January – 31 December 2013. PhD supervisors from Faculty of Science Departments are invited to make nominations up to 15 March 2014; any eligible graduates/graduands are encouraged to promote their own nomination by speaking with their supervisor. Where a Department or Centre has fewer than 10 qualifying thesis submissions in 2013-2014, the Faculty reserves the right to enter their prize candidates into a joint competition with those from the most closely-allied discipline.
