Our fundraising philanthropic income exceeds £100m
2016/17 was an exceptional year for the University’s fundraising team, with over £5.7m raised for priority projects, bringing the total philanthropic income raised to over £100m since the campaign began in 2006.
The majority of funds were allocated towards specific projects that enhance the student experience, like scholarships, new student facilities, Warwick in Africa, and academic research, particularly at the Warwick Cancer Research Centre.
The largest gift was £2m from the Wolfson Foundation towards the mathematical sciences building. Paul Ramsbottom, Chief Executive of the Wolfson Foundation, said:
The Wolfson Foundation is a charity that only makes awards following a rigorous review process, and our grants are intended to serve as a badge of excellence. We are delighted again to be funding Warwick, and the quality of this project is demonstrated by the fact that this is our joint largest award this year.”
Other significant gifts include £192,301 from Yesu Persaud to the Faculty of Arts.
