Graduation 2017: 17-22 July

1

The big day arrives... Degree congregation is a celebration of our students' successes and achievements. Thousands of students will graduate and join a much larger Warwick community of alumni living and working in almost every country in the world.

The award ceremonies will take place over the 17-22 July, with two ceremonies each day in the Butterworth Hall at 11am and 3pm.

We'll also be celebrating the recipients of honorary degrees, Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence, and Outstanding Student Contribution Awards, whose awards will be presented during the degree ceremonies.

Behind the scenes

Graduation just wouldn't be possible without lots of Warwick people getting involved with a variety of roles throughout the week.

Hear from colleagues about their involvement and what they enjoy about it.

Travel

As in previous years, we've arranged to reduce the amount of congestion on campus by running a park and ride scheme from Stoneleigh for graduands and their guests. The coaches will drop off and pick up on campus in the dedicated Coach Park, next to the Bluebell residences.

While these measures will greatly reduce the impact of Graduation on campus life over the course of the ceremonies, please do be ready for a busier campus at this time. If you approach campus from the A45 direction and have a parking permit, you may find that Lynchgate Car Park is a good option, since you can park there without having to drive onto main campus.

You may need to allow extra time for your journey, and we'd advise considering alternatives to parking on campus such as taking the bus, walking or cycling if these are an option for you that week. Don't forget you can take advantage of our Unicycles to get around campus too, or use our free campus shuttlebus.

The lower ground floor of car park 7 (next to the Arts Centre) will be reserved for specific guests throughout graduation. We will also stop traffic on University Road whenever the academic procession needs to cross over before and after the ceremonies to make sure the events proceed as safely as possible.

To support our Degree Ceremonies, the shared space section of University Road between the Piazza and the Arts Centre will be closed during Graduation week, as shown on our map. The campus Bus Interchange will operate as usual, but bus services will not collect and drop off at the Humanities bus stop while the closure is in effect.

All car parks on Central Campus will remain accessible via the Scarman roundabout.
