IGGY's next phase goes social

IGGYThe next phase of the IGGY website launched on Monday 15 October 2012. The social network and online educational hub has been designed by the University to help gifted young people aged 13-18 realise their full potential. It gives members access to great educational resources and encourages them to work with top academics, student mentors and other gifted young people around the world to exchange ideas, debate, learn and explore in a safe environment.

The launch of the new site sees IGGY go social with a strong focus on international collaboration. Members can now create their own profiles including a public or private blog, comment on articles and debates, build an activity page, earn points and achievements for the things they accomplish on the site, make friends and collaborate with other gifted students around the world.

As always, members will continue to engage with content provided in interactive formats from top Warwick academics and a team of postgraduate Student Mentors.

IGGY is a paid for service, but has committed to offering free membership to disadvantaged students and is not for profit. Schools and parents can register interest on the site and pay for membership using a new secure payment system.

IGGY’s Director Janey Walker says:

We’re delighted to launch IGGY’s next phase, with lots of new content and features for our gifted students. A lot of Warwick academics and postgraduates have been involved in our latest content and debates, and we’re very grateful for so much support and enthusiasm from the University.”
