In memory of Jen Bowskill

Staff in many departments around the University will be very sad to learn of the death of Jen Bowskill, who passed away Thursday 17 October.

Jen had worked at Warwick since 2011. She joined us as the Administrator in the Centre for Complexity Science in the Maths Department, and then had a number of roles throughout the University (in the Registrar's Office, the Academic Registrar's Office, Life Sciences, and Statistics) before returning to Maths as their Head of Administration in 2019.

James Robinson, Head of Warwick Mathematics Institute, commented:

"Jen was a pleasure to work with, getting things done swiftly and with the minimum of fuss. She faced up to difficult situations without hesitation, and always proceeded to a pragmatic and creative solution. She was an excellent judge of character, supportive of colleagues and perceptive in penetrating hidden motives. But perhaps the most valued trait to those working on a problem with her, were her sharply humorous assessments. When accompanied by her wicked laugh, and the colour she brought to all meetings, it was something to defuse any tension.

She will be much missed by all who knew her."

If you wish to share memories and messages of sympathy there is an online condolence book, which will be available for the next couple of months before being shared with Jen's family.
