The University is saddened to report the death of Warwick Honorary Graduate, Gordon William Roberts, who passed away on Sunday 13 October at the age of 92.

Gordon received his honorary MA in 1991 at the 25th anniversary degree ceremonies. His daughter-in-law, Angela Roberts, said:

Gordon was very proud of his honorary degree - an MA from the University of Warwick - as his own education had been cut short by his war service. He spent his career in education and he loved the idea that the pupil teacher now had a degree."

Gordon is survived by his wife, Beryl. His funeral will take place on Tuesday 29 October at Woodlands Crematorium (Castle Bromwich/Chelmsley Wood) at 12pm and will be followed by a service at the Parish Church of St. Mary and St. Margaret, Castle Bromwich and a reception at the neighbouring hall.
