Mick Parkes starts as security officer

Mick ParkesMick Parkes who retired from his post as campus policeman in July this year, has returned this week (Monday 12 August 2013) as a security officer.

During his four and a half years as Warwick's full-time campus policeman, Mick has been a popular and well-regarded member of the University community. He was responsible for introducing the bike registration scheme to Warwick and for setting up the cycle recycling scheme on campus.

Mick is looking forward to his new post as a security officer.

Mark Kennell, Head of Security Services said:

Since Mick has been with us, he has provided outstanding support and advice across all departments. He has a naturally approachable and helpful attitude, which has made it really easy for us to work in partnership with the local police. This, combined with an extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system and a very clear understanding about how the University works, has made his role here even more important. He has just taken up his new role as a security officer and will hopefully remain part of the University community for some time to come!"
