The Monash-Warwick Alliance has developed a series of funding initiatives to help promote the development of transformational ideas. As globally connected universities, Warwick and Monash University, Melbourne, are committed to working together and using each institution’s unique capabilities to create world-changing responses to a range of pressing challenges.
The Alliance has competitive funding rounds for projects of a variety of sizes and aimed at supporting a variety of different project types, starting with the Student Led Activity Fund, and growing through the Seed Fund, the Development Fund, and the Major Initiatives Fund.
All funding proposals made to the Alliance are evaluated through the five principles of Alliance activities receiving financial support:
- Strategic value (including synergy and overall alignment with institutional priorities)
- Transformational potential
- Innovative approaches
- Shared commitment and benefits
- Potential for external investment
Forthcoming Calls - deadline Thursday 31 October
Applications for the next round of funding for the Student Led Activity Fund and Seed Fund are due to both Monash and Warwick by the close of business UK time on Thursday 31 October.
The Student Led Activity Fund is designed to promote interactions between students at Monash and Warwick. The fund welcomes proposals to developed activity in all areas of student life, from academic to service to sport. Offering the chance for students to help shape the priorities of the Alliance, this fund will support projects of up to £20,000/AU$30,000. There is considerable potential for successful applicants to personally develop leadership skills as well helping to foster even closer relationships between the two universities. Successful proposals do not necessarily require travel between the UK and Australia. Students who are interested or have ideas are welcome to contact William Rupp w dot h dot rupp at warwick dot ac dot uk for advice and guidance on how to submit an application.
The Seed Fund supports the development of the joint research and educational collaboration between Monash University and the University of Warwick, enabled via a joint fund established by the two universities. The initiative is intended to support the mutually beneficial growth in the research and teaching excellence of both institutions and it has been established with the intention to support initiatives that combine complementary aspects of each institution towards novel research and educational outcomes. Projects of up to AU$22,500 plus £15,000 will be considered. Individuals interested in submitting proposals to the Seed Fund are strongly encouraged to discuss their ideas with the Alliance Project Operations Team in advance of the deadline via mw-alliance at warwick dot ac dot uk
