National Teaching Fellowship 2018

Congratulations to Professor Gwen van der Velden who has been awarded a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship for 2018. This highly respected scheme celebrates and recognises individuals who have made an outstanding impact on higher education.

This year, for the first time since its launch in 2000, the scheme was open to all providers of higher education across the four nations of the UK, making it more diverse and more competitive than ever before. Gwen is one of only 55 higher education teachers across the UK to receive this accolade.

New role

In addition, from 1 September 2018, Gwen will take up the role of Deputy-Pro-Vice Chancellor (Student Learning Experience). This change in status recognises Gwen’s excellent work in WIHEA (Warwick International Higher Education Academy) in SLEEC (Student Learning Experience and Engagement Committee), and in the education agenda across the University, as well as her work nationally.

David Lamburn continues as Deputy-Pro-Vice-Chancellor for all aspects of teaching and learning across the University.

Congratulations to Gwen for both of these achievements.
