National Conference of University Professors (NCUP) periodic review of the UK professoriate

Academic staff at Warwick are invited by the National Conference of University Professors (NCUP) to complete a short online questionnaire about their role as a professor or promoted member of academic staff. Participation is both voluntary and anonymous.
Dear colleague

I invite you to complete this short online questionnaire about your role as a professor or promoted member of academic staff in the UK. This survey follows up on a similar one conducted in 1991 on The Role of the Professoriate. The present survey has been updated to capture data on the current situation to provide a current profile of the UK professoriate.

The survey will take no longer than 5 minutes to complete, has been compiled and is being conducted in accordance with the Ethical Guidelines for Educational Research of the British Educational Research Association (2018). We intend to make the results of the survey available on our website and to publish the outcome. All data will be stored securely and not made available to any other organisation in compliance with GDPR.

The NCUP is a non-political organisation aiming to promote beneficial developments in the UK university system. We can arrange dialogues amongst professors and with political leaders over a range of issues for which they have responsibility. Our membership is broadly distributed geographically and covers all disciplines across the arts, sciences, technology, health professions, humanities and social sciences.

If you would like to know more about the work of the NCUP, please check our website. Details of our very reasonable membership fees may be obtained here.
