Students curate a new exhibition in Leamington Spa

Group shot of the young curators

The Young Curators, a group of final year History of Art undergraduates, have curated a new exhibition opening this week at Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum.

The exhibition, titled 'New Art for a New Age: Optimism in Post-War British Abstraction', will explore the role of optimism in post-war British abstraction using works of art from the Arts Council Collection and the University Art Collection.

'New Art for a New Age' will consist of painting, sculpture and prints produced by artists working in both London and St Ives which display the artistic innovation of the time, including works by Barry Flanagan, Bridget Riley and Terry Frost.

The exhibition will run from Thursday 3 May to Saturday 1 July 2012.
