New Director of Legal and Compliance Services
It was announced today, Tuesday 14 November 2017, that Rachel Gower, currently a Senior Compliance Lawyer at law firm Slaughter and May, has been appointed as the next Director of Legal and Compliance Services. Rachel is expected to take up the position in January 2018.
Warwick’s Registrar, Rachel Sandby-Thomas, welcomed the appointment saying:
I am delighted to welcome Rachel to Warwick. This is an incredibly important appointment for the University and Rachel’s vast array of knowledge, skills, and strengths will support this newly formed team in their development”.
Rachel trained at Slaughter and May and on qualification in 2005, joined the firm’s Real Estate department. After a period of fee-earning, Rachel moved to work in the firm’s Compliance department. Rachel has an MA in Social and Political Science from Clare College, Cambridge and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law School, London.
Rachel sits on The Law Society’s Professional Standards and Ethics Committee and is also a school governor.
