New Estates leadership appointments 2014

Following an extensive recruitment process, two new appointments have been made in the estates senior management team, taking up posts in the new academic year.

James Breckon

James Breckon will be joining Warwick as Director of Estates in October. James will serve as a member of the University’s senior officer team reporting directly to the Registrar and Chief Operating Officer. James is an experienced engineer with a significant track record in the design and build of facilities for academic, research and development organisations. His experience also includes the delivery of major capital and change projects in the charitable, private and public sectors. He is currently a Director at Balfour Beatty Heathrow Airport, responsible for the design & delivery of the £300M capital programme across terminals 1, 2 and 4. Previously to this, James worked as Business Unit Director at design and project management organisation Parsons Brinckerhoff, and as Operations Director at AMEC and Morgan Ashurst.

Will Heynes

Will Heynes will also be joining the estates senior management team in September. Will is currently Development Director at Birmingham Airport, responsible for the capital investment programme as well as airport development and future business planning. He was Operations Director at Birmingham Airport for eight years, with oversight of the operation of the airport’s infrastructure and key customer-facing functions and support facilities. He is a professionally qualified engineer with extensive experience in civil engineering leadership and in operational, technical and customer service functions at East Midlands and Manchester Airports.

Estates senior management team

Chris Carrington will be Deputy Director of Estates, and Kevin Edwards will remain as Head of Finance, Resources and Administration. The precise allocation of responsibilities in the estates senior management team will be confirmed following discussion with the incoming Director.
