National Student Survey 2024
The UK’s biggest survey of students opens on 5 February, and we need your help to promote it to our final-year undergraduates.
Eligible students will receive an invitation to take part from the Pro-Vice-Chancellor on Monday 5 February and will receive a personalised link from Ipsos Mori (who run the survey independently) on Thursday 8 February. Results will be published in Summer 2024.

How the results enhance the student experience
The results have informed a range of enhancements to the student experience, both departmentally, such as reviews of curricula, introducing new assessment methods, but also centrally with the creation of the Student Opportunity Hub and the introduction of the More Books – More E-Books! initiative.
National Student Survey 2024 questions
Warwick did not include any optional banks of questions this year, but has opted for two bespoke questions to retain some institutional overall satisfaction indicators:
Get involved
The most persuasive messages come from the staff that students already know. With that in mind, we are asking colleagues in academic and professional service departments to raise awareness of the NSS and emphasise the importance of student feedback, while being careful not to compromise the anonymity of the survey or influence students’ responses (we have clear guidance on this).
Each department with eligible students has lead colleagues organising efforts to promote the survey in-person and through departmental communication channels, which will complement the on-campus campaign.
A particularly valuable strategy for encouraging participation is to include our lecture slidesat the beginning or end of a teaching session. Other efforts may include adding mentions of the NSS in departmental communications with students, utilising our email and social media templates, and reminding students to fill out the survey in interactive sessions.
About the National Student Survey
The National Student Survey is the UK’s largest and most established survey of higher education students. It provides us with insights into the views of our final-yearundergraduates to help us improve the quality of teaching and learning and the wider student experience.
We are aiming for a 65% overall response rate this year, with a departmental response rate of 55%, which will provide us with a strong data set to enhance the student learning experience.
